X-ray Slits | |
JJ X-ray Slits |
The APS Detector pool has three different X-Ray Slits from JJ X-Ray. They can be used under the following conditions as required by JJ X-Ray
If an APS beamline experiences trouble with one of the products listed below they can
At this point, the APS Detector Pool will
The beamline responsible should then proceed to expediently ensure that repairing is possible by sending the slits etc.
Once the repaired products have been returned the beamline responsible should return the products so that they may be ready for other users. At this point in time both the beamline and the APS Detector Pool will email JJ X-Ray that the slits have in fact been returned.

X-Ray 3d and 4d/5d Metal Foil Sets:
These foil sets are comprised of a series of ultra-thin 3d, 4d and 5d metal foils as standards for EXAFS and XANES measurement. Each 3d foil is approximately 5 microns thick (to give approximately 1.5 absorption lengths above the K-edge) and is mounted in individual electroplated Aluminum frames, 2.6 cm x 4.6 cm in size. The foil area is approximately 1 cm x 3 cm. The 4d and 5d foils have a greater thickness. |
