The first optical enclosure (FOE) of any beamline has seven to eight types of LEDs, which will be either green or red.
- ON-LINE: If green, the PSS for the beamline has been connected to the ACIS (Access Control Interlock System).
- ACIS: If green, shutter operation has been permitted by the Main Control Room (MCR).
- EPS (Equipment Protection System): If green, front-end beamline equipment is protected by both the beamline and front-end equipment protection systems. If red, either the front-end or beamline equipment is not being protected, and will need further attention by a Floor Coordinator, Beamline Personnel, and/or a Systems Engineer.
- APS ENABLE: If green, the APS has given permission to open the shutter.
- STATION SECURE (or SEARCHED): If green, a Search-and-Secure has been successfully performed for that station.
- BEAM READY: If green, indicates all PSS requirements of the beamline have been met to take beam into the station.
- SHUTTER STATUS: If green, the front-end safety shutter is open for that station.
- MODE STATUS: If green, indicated beam mode, be it mono, pink, or white, will be taken in the station when shutters opened. Note: These LEDs will only be present for stations with mode shutters.
