EPICS is the primary interface between all interested APS Users and personnel not located directly at the beamline. It is used to provide status of the beamlines, storage ring, and all APS systems in between (PSS, FEEPS, vacuum, water, ID, and LNDS to name a few) to APS personnel. It also allows APS Beamline Personnel remote control of the beamline shutters, ID's, and beamline equipment protection systems (BLEPS). Upon completion of this module, the reader should understand the basics of finding system status displays using EPICS.
