Symposium on Novel SC Materials and Technology

The Symposium on Novel Superconducting (SC) Materials and Technology took place on February 25, 2013. It was organized by the Accelerator Systems Division (ASD) of the Advanced Photon Source (APS) of Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) with the purpose of presenting to the APS technical staff four educational lectures. Forty Symposium attendees included physicists, engineers and technicians from Accelerator Systems Division and APS Engineering Support Divisions responsible for the design and construction of the APS superconducting undulator (SCU). The four lectures were given by experts in the field of superconductivity, two Argonne scientists and two professors from US universities. The lectures covered the status of several SC technologies and developments of new SC materials and projections of developments of specific applications for future generations of SCUs.
