Interests:

My research interests are in the area of resonant inelastic x-ray scattering, addressing emergent quantum phenomena in strongly correlated electron systems: novel spin-orbit physics, quantum spin liquids, topological states, high-temperature superconductivity, physics in low-dimensional materials, metal-insulator transition, charge and orbital ordering, and quantum phase transitions under high pressure and high magnetic field. At the intersection of strongly correlated electron systems and functional devices, my research interest is on defect physics in transition-metal based functional materials/catalysts, addressing emergent electric and catalytic properties in complex defective systems: resistive switching phenomena and 3d/5d transition-metal oxide oxygen evolution catalysts (OEC) for solar fuel productions. My technical interest is on the developments of the state of the art x-ray scattering spectroscopy instrument based on dynamic theory of x-ray diffraction.
