Byeongdu Lee received a B.S. degree from the Seoul National University and Ph.D. in chemistry from the POSTECH, South Korea, in 2003. During his Ph. D., he developed scattering theory and technique of GISAXS for nanoporous thin film and block copolymer. During his period as Post Doc and assistant physicist at the Advanced Photon Source he studied phase problem in SAXS and GISAXS and their applications to self-assembly behaviors of organic/inorganic/biological materials.

He has organized sessions and workshops related to x-ray scattering and chemistry of nanostructures. He has served as a phD thesis commettee and instructor for teaching x-ray scattering in workshops and schools.
