Nanotechnology Symposium in Texcoco, Mexico

The Colegio de Postgraduados is a Mexican public institution of higher education with international recognition. Located in Texcoco, 15 miles northeast of Mexico City, the Colegio de Postgraduados focuses on sustainable management of natural recourses, food production, and food safety. On September 23, 2014, the Colegio organized a symposium on nanoscience and nanotechnology, coordinated and chaired by Dr. Carmen González-Chávez. Argonne’s Volker Rose was invited to present a seminar on “Recent Advances in X-ray Microscopy for the Study of Nanoscale Materials”. During his stay at the Colegio de Postgraduados he also taught a short course on micro- and nanotechnology. Based on the many discussions at the Colegio, concrete plans for collaborative research projects using the Advanced Photon Source will be prepared.
