Symposium at 2014 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit

The Materials Research Society (MRS) is an organization of materials researchers worldwide that promotes communication for the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research and technology to improve the quality of life. Founded in 1973, MRS now consists of over 16,000 members from the United States—as well as nearly 70 other countries.

The 2014 MRS Fall Meeting and Exhibit featured over 6,000 presentations, including more than 3,300 oral presentations and nearly 3,000 poster presentations. Volker Rose presented an invited talk in the special symposium “Advances in Scanning Probe Microscopy for Multimodal Imaging at the Nanoscale”.

The goal of this symposium was to bring together pioneers of various advanced SPM methods who are pushing the limits of spatial, chemical and temporal resolution, and breadth of what is measureable in material sciences with the aim of building a more coherent picture of material functionality at the defining length- and time- scales.
