On Thursday, January 29, a luncheon and awards presentation was held to honor Argonne employees who were granted patents in fiscal years 2013 and 2014; along with R&D 100 Awards and an FLC Award received in 2014. The members of the SXSPM team, Volker Rose, Curt Preissner, Daniel Rosenmann, and Saw-Wai Hla were invited based on their US Patent 8,850,611. The team received the patent for "Simultaneous topographic and elemental chemical and magnetic contrast in scanning tunneling microscopy" in 2014.
