Benjamin Stripe is a new postdoctoral appointee to the microscopy group of the X-ray Science Division at Argonne National Lab. He will be conducting x-ray fluorescence studies on the Hard X-ray Nanoprobe at sector 26. His current focus is the development of a liquid and gas flow cell for in situ studies of oxidation, mineralization, and geopolymer formation. He recently earned his PhD in physics from Northwestern University, where he made use of the APS as a user since 2006. His previous work focused on grazing incidence x-ray diffraction from floating organic templates and templated biomimetic crystallization. As a hobby he is proponent for building and using open source 3D printers and other emerging desktop fabrication technologies. |
