In the past decade, the high-energy diffraction microscopy (HEDM) program at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) has made significant progress, providing users with in situ, non-destructive and multi-modal 3D microstructure mapping to address a wide range of scientific challenges. As a key part of this effort, the APS has developed the Microstructural Imaging using Diffraction Analysis Software (MIDAS) suite for reducing HEDM diffraction patterns into microstructure maps.   MIDAS can in principle run on desktops, but due to the large data volumes typically involved high performance computing (HPC) resources such as the Advanced Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) at Argonne are best used.

Contact Jun-Sang Park (parkjs@anl.gov) if there are questions about the workshop.

Registration
For remote or in-person attendance request, email Jun-Sang Park (parkjs@anl.gov) to register.
For remote attendance, a teleconference link is provided above.
For in-person data analysis participation request, we are limiting the number of participants to ~10 people. Email Jun-Sang Park (parkjs@anl.gov) by October 14, 2022. Requests with APS 1-ID HEDM data set will be prioritized.
For in-person site access, follow the instructions at
https://www.anl.gov/user-facility-registration
Please include “MIDAS workshop” in the email communication subject line.
