Quintana to Lead Photon Sciences Mission Readiness Group

 

John Quintana has been named to lead the Photon Sciences (PSC) Mission Readiness Group. 

John will spearhead the efforts needed to ensure the APS facility is ready to come back online promptly after the APS Upgrade Project installation is complete.

John has recently been leading important efforts in preparation and organization of Accelerator Readiness Reviews (ARRs) and the Gap Workshop outcomes.  John's extensive background at the APS and Argonne, and familiarity with DOE personnel and others across the Laboratory complex, will serve PSC well in this role.

The initial scope of this role will include ARR planning and preparation inclusive of components, which feed into the success of the ARR, including technical system reviews and Transfer to Operations protocols, PSC quality assurance advances, institutionalizing the Component Database, and use of electronic travelers (eTravelers) across PSC, other work planning and control improvements, document management enhancements, and general APS Operations/Upgrade interface management.

In this role, John will report to John Connolly, PSC Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for Operations.
