Abstract:

SYMETRIE is one of the world’s leading providers of hexapod solutions for positioning and motion applications, and has developed a complete range of precision positioning hexapods for loads from a few grams to several tons and resolutions from a few nanometers to a few tenths of a micrometer. SYMETRIE can also provide custom designs in a relatively short time.

Pierre Noire, Product R&D manager, will present the hexapod technology and some previous experiences of custom-made solutions developed for synchrotrons and other large scientific instruments. Projects include hexapods, diffractometers, and systems with additional degrees of freedom. SYMETRIE also manufacture vacuum compatible systems.  SYMETRIE provides ready to use systems with high level performances in terms of resolution, repeatability, accuracy, stability, and stiffness.

Their skills cover mechanical engineering, electronics, motion control, and software (including EPICS). SYMETRIE’s expertise also includes metrology and factory testing of systems under conditions close to the customer’s application.
