The APS Engineering Support Division is looking for designers who have experience in producing mechanical (machine) designs for unique mechanical equipment or equivalent.  This includes checking and preparation of original design layouts, handbook calculations, and complete fabrication drawings for 1) electro-mechanical equipment; 2) equipment support structures; 3) piping and support systems;  and 4) special purpose machines such as accelerators.  The applicant should have at least 3-5 years experience with a full function CAD system such as Pro/E or AutoCAD.  Three-dimensional (3-D) solid CAD design experience is required.  Pro/E experience is preferred.  Some knowledge of vacuum, magnet, and radio-frequency technologies is desirable.

The APS Engineering Support Division is looking for two control system applications assistants  who will be responsible for maintaining software and hardware for beamline control, data acquisition, and data analysis for use in beamlines at the Advanced Photon Source.  The applicants will provide technical support to software users and developers.

The APS Engineering Support Division is looking to hire a control systems engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and evaluating control system software in support of APS accelerator operations and other accelerator-related projects.  The engineer should have comprehensive knowledge of software techniques in connection with control system applications, including programming languages used with control systems at the APS and EPICS.

The APS Engineering Support Division is looking for an engineering associate responsible for maintaining the engineering drawing database using Pro/Interlink.  The engineering associate will enforce standards for Pro/E models and AutoCAD drawings, and provide technical direction and oversight for models and drawings.  The individual should have considerable knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing applications, and knowledge in Pro/E assembly/part modeling and generating drawings from 3-D solid models.  Also, considerable knowledge of Pro/Interlink database management system is required.
