Thank you for this note! This can explain why packets get lost in my test
environment. For the sake of completeness, the 8.12 frames/s I described is the
maximum value the camera's firmware allows me to set. Any higher value is
clipped to that one. It turns out I didn't double check its throughput.

But still, the math does not match for 7.66Hz, the limit Mark Rivers
highlighted in his comment:

2952 x 1944 * 3 * 8 * 23 / 3 (bit) -> 1,055,918,592 bit/s

Unless we treat the limit as 1 Gigibit/s, which shouldn't be the case, right?

It should still be noted that Ethernet, IP, UDP and GVSP overhead for each
packet is not being taken into account.
