The synApps "ip" module has some very simple support. In fact here it is!

corvette:ip/ipApp/Db>more SR630.db

grecord(asyn,"$(P)$(R)$(N)_READ")
{
        field(PORT,"$(PORT)")
        field(AOUT,"MEAS?$(N)")
        field(FLNK,"$(P)$(R)$(N)")
        field(SCAN,"$(SCAN)")
}

grecord(scalcout,"$(P)$(R)$(N)")
{
        field(INAA,"$(P)$(R)$(N)_READ.AINP NPP NMS")
        field(CALC,"$S(AA,'%f')")
        field(PREC,"$(PREC)")
        field(DESC,"$(DESC)")
}

So it's just an asyn record and an scalcout record to read channel N.

You must be way too young! DB-25 was the standard for RS-232 in the old days of dialup connections with modems. DB9 is the "new-fangled" type of connector, made popular with the PC I think. You can Google RS-232 wiring to see the pin definitions on DB25 and DB9.

The basic signals on DB9 are pin 2 receive data, pin 3 transmit data, pin 5 ground. On DB25 pin 2 is transmit data, pin 3 is receive data, and pin 7 is ground. Of course the definitions of "transmit" and "receive" depends whether you are data terminal equipment (DTE) or data communications equipment (DCE).

Subject: Stanford Research SR630 Thermocouple monitor

Hi,

Does anybody have device support for the SR630 thermocouple monitor?
Also, why does its' RS232 interface come in the DB25 form factor? I had expected it to be a standard DB9 (COM). Any ideas how to hook it up to the good old DB9 port?
