adl2edl conversion and ascii input ioc

Dear Sirs,

I have two requiements for which I need your help. Kindly help me to do so.

1st:
How to convert medm files to edm files. I could not suceed in building
adl2edl source file. I have untarred it into the ../extensions/src
directory. Please guide me the procedure.

2nd:
I have some data coming out from a PLC as message through serial port
ttyS0 in my PC. It is in ASCII format with CR LF at the end of
message. The requirement is simply to read it and display it in the
message box in medm / edm. I need to build the ioc for this. Kindly
suggest how to proceed.
