edd doesn't work on WBEL4 with KDE (but does with gnome)

Hi all,

for those who still use edd/dm: my desktop machine got upgraded to
WBEL4 (was RH9), and in the process I switched to KDE as a windows 
manager too (used gnome before).

Now I find the following: while dm works just fine on KDE, edd doesn't,
or at least copying and pasting doesn't, but gives me a clipboard error.
The solution to this is to switch back to gnome (where I knew this 
worked before, and it still works now) just for the editing, which I did
from a different machine to save me the logging out and running
everything else back up.
(the parts of edd that do work on KDE require double mouse clicks)
