Coles Sibley here at SNS has installed R3.14 base on a Windows 2000 system
using MS Visual C++ to build it.  I plan to try installing R3.14 on a RH
Linux 7 system since the SNS project global controls group appears committed
to a move to the Linux platform.  We are using a Linux file server for the
conventional facilities EPICS applications development (talk to Bob Dalesio
and Kay Kasemir at LANL, with whom we are working closely on this).
