EPICS on x86

I have recently completed the build of R3.13.1 for solaris/pc486.

All appears well until dbLoadDatabase which fails and gives the
following console message:

  Error "syntax error"  Last token ".bashrc"
  input line: .bashrc
     in: file /usr/users/sinclx86/hribfx86/dbd/exampleApp.dbd line 1

  db_parse returned -1

exampleApp.dbd starts with:

menu(seqSELM) {
        choice(seqSELM_All,"All")
        choice(seqSELM_Specified,"Specified")
        choice(seqSELM_Mask,"Mask")
}
menu(selSELM) {
        choice(selSELM_Specified,"Specified")
        choice(selSELM_High_Signal,"High Signal")
        choice(selSELM_Low_Signal,"Low Signal")
        choice(selSELM_Median_Signal,"Median Signal")
}

.
.
.

Any ideas?

The solaris/68k build was successful and the example app is running.
