Subject: Process-Valve icon color

Dear all,
I have a question regarding the color-code of process valves on our operator
displays. The traditional practice (here at PPPL) has been that a green
valve icon indicates an open valve (flow) and a red valve indicates a closed
valve (no flow). I believe (but am not sure) that this is the opposite of
industrial/nuclear industry convention.

In order to convince people here that we are not doing what the rest of the
industry is doing, I'd like to quote an ANSI/ISO/DIN standard. I have not
found any standards online (there are lots I can order) clarifying this
issue.

1) What is the correct convention ?
2) What color convention are you using ?
3) Would someone post the number of a standard & subsection which
specifies the correct code ?

-ps
