1) The caVersion, caInit, caScan, ... can be found in the EPICS document 

	CaWave3.1 Release Notes

2) If you set the environment

	setenv CAWAVE_SHARE   /usr/local/epics/extensions/bin/$HOST_ARCH/CaWave.so

   In pv-wave you enter the following before calling any other CA functions

	WAVE> .run CaWave
	WAVE> caVersion
	WAVE> caInit

By the way, the epics/extension/src/pvwave directory is not actively 
maintained any more.  It is to be replaced by the 

	epics/extensions/src/ezcaIDL   directory
