The stripcharts have a major stupidity in them -
they only update when monitors come back. So,
for those variables - set the MDEL field to -1
and it will send monitors on each scan.
This is slated for re-write and unfunded. Let me
know if you are interested.

Loosing contact - I don't understand. Could you
elaborate? Also - what version?
