Base Patch Support Applications

The patch below is a support application that can be linked into an EPICS IOC application to fix known problems in EPICS Base without having to rebuild Base itself. Look for instructions inside the tar file.

CVS Snapshots

In addition to the fully tested releases of EPICS Base listed above, the latest CVS snapshots of both R3.13.x and 3.14.x are available for download here. These gzipped tar files are created shortly after midnight Chicago (Central US) time whenever any change has been committed to the CVS repository, thus they should never be more than 24 hours behind the latest development version of Base. If a creation date is several days or even weeks old, that means that nothing has been checked into that CVS branch between that date and midnight in Chicago last night.

There is no guarantee that any particular CVS snapshot will even compile, let alone run properly. Do not rely on these versions of EPICS Base, although in most cases they should work properly and contain the latest bug fixes that will be found in the next official release. The release process includes running a comprehensive series of test suites, which the CVS versions have not necessarily been checked with.

Regression Tests

In addition to the various test programs provided with Base, the EPICS core developers also use the following set of regression tests. There were written by Marty Kraimer and are sufficient for our needs at present, but are rather APS-specific and complicated. Eventually we'd like to be able to just type make test and have them all run automatically, but that's just a pipe dream at present. There are no specific releases of this code at present, so these versions are those built for the two main development branches of Base.
