Dear CoreTalkers, Thank you for your great work and support of the EPICS framework! I would like to understand a bit more about how the patch will happen for the releases of EPICS 7. Let me explain first try to explain why I am confused... Until EPICS 3.16 series, EPICS Base was a single repository hosted at Launchpad as well as mirrored at GitHub and the Known Problems page would make available for us patch files that could be applied into a certain release without the need to have the HEAD of that release (read here the branch series 3.14, 3.15, 3.16...) and the process was smooth and straightforward. With EPICS 7 the submodules were introduced (and I can totally see the benefit of it) in the whole process and now a version of EPICS Base is made by the combination of versions of modules such as pvAccess, pva2pva, normativeTypes and others. Given that, here are my questions so far: How are the core maintainers thinking about releasing patches for Known Problems of EPICS Base 7.x series? Will we have the patch files separated for each of the submodules? Should we track the HEAD of each submodule to ensure that we have the latest and greatest even if there is no official EPICS Base release tagged with this new combination of versions? Will we have more frequent releases of the 7.x series to go along with releases of the submodules adding features needed? Thank you for your attention and I'm sorry if the questions were answered before. Cheers, Hugo Slepicka
