APS Roadmap Scenarios: Next Step 04.30.2012

Last month we proposed ten possible Roadmap scenarios for potential future locations of programs at APS sectors. Subsequently, we received advice from APS Science Advisory Committee and Laboratory management, and feedback from our user community and APS staff. We followed up with meetings of representatives from Roadmap-affected programs and discussed the impact of various scenarios. We also performed rough cost estimates of all options and took into consideration technical limitations. After synthetizing all this input, we now propose scenario J’ as a base scenario and two of its variations (O and J) as possible options.

As before, we only list programs in this table that were considered for moving. See previous document "Developing the APS Roadmap Scenarios" for other programs and detailed description of scenarios development.

As the APS Upgrade moves towards creating a "baseline" for cost and schedule purposes, we encourage you to give feed back at apsroadmap@aps.anl.gov. Comments will be reviewed by a moderator and then posted.

  • Orange denotes location unchanged
  • Programs in red denote difference between base scenario and options
  • An "s" after the beamline designation indicates the beamline is shared with another program
  • * Denotes XSD-LSS as part of XIS
