Beamline 4-ID-C

Beamline 4-ID-C is operated by the Magnetic Materials Group in the X-ray Science Division (XSD) of the Advanced Photon Source.

Research on this beamline focuses on the study of magnetic properties interfaces and dillute systems using x-ray spectroscopy techniques at energies between 500 to 2500 eV.

A further understanding of superconductivity

June 10, 2013

A crucial ingredient of high-temperature superconductivity can be found in a class of materials that is entirely different than conventional superconductors. That discovery is the result of research by an international team of scientists working at 4-ID-C.
