CAT Chat Minutes

December 1, 2008

Operations, Mark Beno

Beno reported that there had been one drop over the weekend due to a vacuum valve fault. That resulted in .81 hours of downtime. 23-ID was down 140 minutes due to multiple PSS faults that inhibited the beam to the user. The Mean Time Between Faults was 85.62 hours and the Percentage of Scheduled Beamtime was 85.62 hours.

Training, Bruce Glagola

Glagola asked everyone to please make sure that sector orientation is credited immediately upon completion.

Gate Passes, Susan Strasser

Strasser asked everyone to remind their users that the User Office needs to know when they are going to arrive. Many of them do their training remotely and don't think to request a gate pass.

Schedule for FY 2009, Mark Beno

Beno handed out the tentative beamline schedule for FY 2009. There are three weeks that have yellow time in them. This represents the 3 weeks that might not be scheduled if the budget does not improve. The final determination will be made before the end of March.
