CAT Chat Minutes

July 14, 2008

Safety, Paul Rossi

Rossi said that the ISM Verification Team has been here all day. They had an introductory meeting, met with Murray , and then were on their way to the control room. An updated schedule can be found at: Rossi expects that the Team will attend next week's CAT Chat.

Operations, Mark Beno

Beno reported that there was only one beam drop this week. The MTBF was 40.70 and the percentage of scheduled time was 96.46%.

Beno mentioned the letter that everyone had received from Julie Cross which proposed taking up 4 hours of beam time to do a mode change during the extended APS operations. The proposed time would be from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon on August 8th. Ercan Alp explained what would be involved in their experiment and asked everyone to consider giving up 4 hours of their time for them.

John Quintana reported that any messages that are sent out to pagers will now be posted at: The information is located on the right hand side of the page.

Susan Strasser announced that the proposal deadline had just passed. There are 9 more shifts this year than there were in the same cycle of last year. However, we had almost 300 more beam time requests and 138 more new proposals .
