Operations Update, Mark Beno

For the next two days the APS/ESRF/Spring 8 Three Way Spring Meeting will be taking place at the APS.

Problems:

  • 49 hours downtime caused by RF.
  • 10c needed rebooted

Stats:

  • 98.76% - Beamtime
  • 119.01 – Meantime between faults

Safety, Tom Barkalow, Paul Rossi

ISM Verification: The first ISM meeting did not accomplish what it was intended to; therefore, the additional two meetings originally planned have been cancelled. Information will be distributed through the Argonne media.

The APS IMS page has been revamped. A box is available to pose questions.

Radiological Postings: A generic postings sheet has been sent. T. Barkalow is requesting present postings, and future postings as requirements. Once this list is finalized, he will relate this information to the APS beamlines.

Electrical Panels: Per the request of T. Barkalow, ESH Coordinators will be talking to beamlines about keeping spaces clear in front of the electrical panels. Safety regulations require this area to be clear at all times.

EQO will do laser surveillance at the APS.

The 911 incidents this weekend was an illness at Bldg. 433.

It is the time of year for TRI reporting. An email will be sent requesting how much usage of lead, mercury, etc. Please make sure you respond to the email.

Questions/Comments

The coffee cart will start at 8:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. Possibly during shutdown the coffee cart will stop service and the grill will be open in the evenings and on weekends. If you have any suggestions please email Mark Beno or Sue Zitska.

Machine study will be held tomorrow, March 18 th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
