  • Two changes in July.
    • The block of 324 Bunch time moved from August to July.
    • Two extra days of downtime have been added to the schedule in the weekend following the 4 th of July holiday resulting in a 4-day weekend without user beam.

Safety, Edmund Chang

There is an ongoing Job Hazard Questionnaire review. Please make sure you turn in your signed JHQ to Rachel Reed (Diane Morgan for XOR staff).

Power strips cannot be permanently mounted. The allowed power loading for 15 A Isobar units has been increased from 8 amps to 12 amps.

Tom Barkalow

Contractors for EQO are conducting 100% OSHA Type inspections. Inspection of the first 17 sectors has been completed. The most common issues found are electrical. Some examples include using power strips in lieu of permanent wiring or isobars being tied down or plugged into an extension cord. If wiring is needed past 90 days, permanent wiring is required.

The APS requirement for TLD badges is being reduced. CATS will be reviewing this new procedure as well.

A high and moderate work activity review is in progress at Argonne . The review team will be at the APS next week, possibly October 9-12. Jim Lang will be the liaison between the APS and the review team.
