Safety
E. Chang announced that a meeting was held by the APS Laser Safety Committee.   A one-page checklist for laser alignment is being composed.   A draft of the checklist will be circulated to the APS and LCA supervisors.

"Thank you to Reinhard Pahl for volunteering his services and equipment to help Vijay Tirumala develop a laser installation in 401/L1112.

Essential Sector Specific Communications J. Quintana:   Machine fault notification is less than ideal.   We would like messages to be sent when the ring comes back, more discussion about this will take place at the next TWG meeting (Thursday, June 16th).

User said, at one time diagnostics group personnel scanned their beam and left it open.   They were not aware it was done.   For several months they performed testing to see why the beam was weakened.   John explained that we are looking at a notification system that would result in no undue downtime.
