Patricia Fernandez, AOD Experiment Operations Support, introduced Bruno Fieramosca as the new floor coordinator in her group.
Information Technology - Ken Sidorowicz gave his security presentation to the group (see viewgraphs). Ken explained that DOE audit review of APS went very well (cyber, certification, and accreditation).
Safety: Laser safety presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 29 th at 11:00 a.m. in 402 auditorium. The topics to be covered are: Laser Alignment Safety; Description of Laser Incidents at the DOE Complex and Suggestions for Improvement of Laser Safety at the APS; Repercussions of Safety Occurrences within DOE; and, Today Laser Safety Expectations.
E. Chang reports a theft has recently occurred in sector 10, the responsible party was identified and reprimanded.
Floor Coordinators – Rod Salazar reports that floor coordinators are asking to clear the beamlines. Beginning Wednesday morning there will be two groups who will begin making rounds.
CNM Construction: During auguring operations, rock was struck and all auguring discontinued. There must not be interruption of beamline operations so this auguring problem must be resolved quickly in order to finish the task of laying 36 inch pipe below the ring. Options are being discussed and Roger will report to the group next week.
