Information and Follow-up Items

Where is the ESAF now located on the APS webpages? Can an appraisal form be placed clearly in view? Add an ESAF tab?

From the main APS home page, choose User Information, in the left column click Safety and Training and ESAFs should be then found. Direct link to ESAF has been added to Getting Beamtime page.

User Operations

Operation Stats: Availability is 98.8%. Mean time between faults (MTBF) is 49.26 hours. There were five out of 400 hours downtime. Regarding "unknown trips due to beam motion," we are trying to reduce the number. It is an initial assessment by operators after which a physicist analyzes cause and states reason.

Summary

Conference rooms E1100 and E1200 will be combined in order to accommodate as many as fifty meeting attendees.

ESAF: Bruce Glagola announced that electronically submitted ESAFs will be required starting with the January run. He will talk to Marcia Wood to see if a better time can be established for ORACLE downtime thus allowing for more predictable timing of uploads. A request was made by a User that the serial numbers be cleared when an ESAF is duplicated. This will be corrected by M. Wood's group.
