Currently, we are halfway through the run. Three faults occurred this past week. The first fault was a power supply trip and the other two faults were related to water vacuum problems. The performance for this past week is over 80%. The mean time between faults is ~ 40 hours. Overall, availability is 98.4%.
The beamline operations schedule for Tuesday, August 29, will be an 8-hour machine studies period starting at 0800 hours.
The APS FY2001 Long Range Operations Schedule has been updated by adding the months of January through April. This update provides two weeks of top-up and four days of hybrid mode. In addition, we have included a note regarding the start date for the following user run, which will begin May 9, 2001.
A new fast food grill service is being planned and will be located in the 402 gallery serving from 5:00-9:00 pm Monday through Friday. Also for your convenience, weekend food service will be available at the Guest House. Both food services are planned to begin shortly after Labor Day. More information will be provided as soon as it is available.
Dean Haeffner thanked all of the users who provided support and assistance to the just completed National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering.The school was a big success and the user support allowed students to experiment and further develop their x-ray skills.
