Beamline 15-ID-B,C,D: Sector 15 - Insertion Device Beamline

Description

Beamline 15-ID has three experimental stations dedicated to static and dynamic condensed matter chemistry and materials science. The stations accommodate advanced small molecule diffraction, air/liquid and liquid/liquid interfacial scattering, and ultra-small angle x-ray scattering (USAXS).

Beamline Controls and Data Acquisition

EPICS, SPEC, and APEXII in addition to IDL, Windows XP, Solaris, and Linux OS with tools such as MEDM and VME-and NIM-based electronics.

  • Oxford scintillation photomultiplier
  • Oxford high precision ionization chamber

  • Liquid surface scattering spectrometer
  • General purpose Langmuir Trough for air/water interface scattering
  • Monochromatic beam chopper for time resolved studies
  • Bruker D8 fixed-axis microcrystal diffractometer
  • Liquid nitrogen and liquid helium cryostreams
  • Wet chemistry preparation laboratory
