Beamline 29-ID-C,D: IEX - Intermediate Energy X-ray

Description

Beamline 29-ID focusses on intermediate energy (250 to 2500 eV) scattering and electron spectroscopy of condensed matter systems. It is equipped with two end-stations, one for Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (ARPES) and another for resonant soft x-ray scattering (RSXS) studies. The ARPES instrument has a highly focused x-ray beam (~5x5Ám), variable temperature (T=4-300K), and Scienta electron analyzer. The RSXS instrument has a unique in vacuum Kappa geometry diffractometer with variable temperature cryostat (T=20-300K). The beam line is currently in construction and is scheduled to begin accepting general users in Jan. 2015.
